You might not be able to install Ubuntu at Hyper-V within Windows 8. The ISO image won’t be recognized and you will just see a message that Boot from Network did not succeed.
The reason is that the most recent version of Hyper-V under Windows 8 creates virtual machines with activated secure boot. Without a secure boot enable .ISO, the bootloader will not accept the CD-image.
To disable Secure boot, open the Hyper-V Manager and open the properties. Under “Firmware”, you will find “Secure Boot”:
